Previously, Bollywood had a problem with remakes of South Indian movies. However, Salman Khan broke ranks and decided to remake many South Indian movies for the Hindi film industry. This has started a trend after his popular remakes such as Ready and Bodyguard became blockbusters at the box office. Now, Bollywood considers it a matter of pride to proclaim that some movies are official remakes of movies from other languages, including Hollywood movies.
