- Living Root Bridges
Deep inside Meghalaya’s dense and tropical forests, which are shrouded in rain most of the year, are some amazing man-made natural wonders. Known as living root bridges, they grow from the roots of ancient rubber trees and can bear the weight of people. Meghalaya’s most famous root bridge is the “double decker” bridge in Cherapunjee.
